Pricing and Limits

Plan pricing, document quotas, API costs, and rate limits for Chat9.

Current pricing

Chat9 is currently free to use during the early access period.

Document limits

  • Maximum 100 documents per account.
  • Maximum 50 MB per document.

Widget limits

  • Maximum 1 000 characters per single message sent through the widget. Messages exceeding this limit are rejected before reaching the bot.
  • Maximum 800 tokens per bot response (roughly 600 words). Longer answers are truncated by the model.

The 100-document capacity is shared across uploaded files and indexed URL-source pages.

API costs

Chat9 uses your own OpenAI API key — you pay OpenAI directly for:

  • Embedding generation (when you upload documents): uses text-embedding-3-small.
  • Chat answers: uses gpt-5-mini.
  • Lightweight guard and validation checks: use gpt-4o-mini by default.

Typical costs are very low — a few cents per document upload, and fractions of a cent per chat message.

  • Private chat API: 30 requests per minute per API key.

  • Document upload: 20 uploads per hour.
  • Registration: 5 per hour per IP.
